13 Strangest Places Where People Live, Number 2 is Hard To Believe

Number 8 – Bozouls, France

Bozouls

The French town of Bozouls has a breathtaking, if slightly perilous, appearance because it is perched on the rim of a massive 300-foot-deep canyon. The hamlet has surrounded the horseshoe-shaped canyon, “le Trou de Bozouls,” for more than a hundred years in the Aveyron area of southern France.

A large castle was established here in the 9th century, but it was ruined in the course of time. However, the St. Faustus church, built in the 12th century and perched on the cliff’s edge, has stood to this day. This historic settlement, which is home to roughly 3,000 people now, offers the greatest location to take in Bozouls Hole’s natural splendour.
