5. Use a Screw
For another approach, try using a small screw to extract the broken key. Start by applying a lubricant or graphite powder into the keyhole to reduce friction. Grab a thin screw, preferably a wood screw, and carefully insert the pointed end into the space between the broken key and the edge of the keyhole.
Twist the screw gently so the threads catch onto the key fragment. Once it’s secured, pull the screw out slowly to extract the key. If the key’s broken end is protruding slightly, you can use the tip of the screw to gently pry it out of the lock.
